From Remedios, Cuba, to my new home: Bulgaria
My journey began in Cuba, a place rich in culture and color. From the vibrant streets of Havana to the quiet corners of my hometown, I always had an interest in capturing the world around me—though it wasn’t until much later that I found the tool to do so.
The insecurity and horrors of my homeland took me far from there, all the way to Bulgaria, where I settled and started a new chapter in my life. It was here, in the marvelous Bulgaria that I touched a camera for the first time. That moment was transformative. Eventually, what began as a curiosity became a passion, and with each shot, I discovered a new way not only to express myself, but to give people a different perspective of the things that despite being in front of us are often often ignored.
My inspiration is how the Holy Spirit presents the world around me, particularly in landscapes and street art. The vastness of nature and the creativity found in urban spaces both speak in different ways. Whether it’s the serenity of a sunset over the distant horizon or the bold statements of a mural hidden in a city alley, the message is clear, present and cries out to be captured. Once a moment has been persisted, it must be made available for the generations to come.
Through my lenses, I seek to capture in a frame not just what I see, but what I feel. May these images invite others to share in the journey and sense narratives as they emerge along the way.
