Refund and Return Policy

At yamworks.com, we value the trust you place in our art. As a European consumer, your purchases are protected by the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act. This policy outlines your rights and the procedures for returns and refunds.

1. Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

Under EU law, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 calendar days of receiving your artwork without providing a justification.

  • Notification: You must inform us of your decision to withdraw via email at info@yamworks.com within this 14-day window.
  • Conditions for Return: To receive a full refund, the artwork must be returned in its original, pristine condition and in its original packaging (shipping tube).
  • Handling & Diminished Value: You are liable for any diminished value of the artwork resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and characteristics of the print. Given the fragile nature of A1 paper, any creases, fingerprints, or edge damage caused by improper unrolling or repacking will result in a deduction from your refund.

2. Condition Verification & Chain of Custody

To protect both the collector and the artist, yamworks.com maintains a strict “Condition Record” for every order:

  • Pre-Flight Inspection: Every print is inspected and photographed immediately before being sealed in its shipping tube. We retain timestamped digital evidence of the artwork’s perfect condition at the time of dispatch.
  • Return Inspection: Upon receiving a return, we perform a secondary inspection. If the condition differs from our dispatch records due to customer handling, we will provide photographic evidence and deduct the loss in value from the refund amount.

3. Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged due to transit, we will replace it at no additional cost or issue a full refund.

  • External Inspection: Upon delivery, please inspect the shipping tube. If the tube is visibly bent, crushed, or punctured, you must request a “Damage Protocol” (Констативен протокол) from the courier before signing.
  • Reporting: Any internal damage must be reported to info@yamworks.com within 48 hours of delivery, accompanied by clear photos of the damage and the packaging. Reports made after this window may be attributed to post-delivery handling.

4. Return Shipping Process

  • Responsibility: Unless the item is defective or incorrect, the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.
  • Safe Transit: You must return the item using the original shipping tube. We strongly recommend using a trackable and insured shipping service. yamworks.com cannot issue refunds for items that are lost or damaged during their return journey to us.

5. Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the status of your refund.

  • Total Refund: We will refund the full price of the artwork and the standard shipping costs paid at the time of purchase.
  • Deductions: Please note that supplementary costs for premium/express delivery are non-refundable. Per current payment processor standards, transaction fees are not deducted from the customer’s refund but are absorbed as a business expense by yamworks.com.
  • Timeline: Approved refunds are processed via the original payment method (Stripe) within 14 days of receiving your return or proof of return shipping.

6. Exceptions

  • Custom Commissions: Any artwork created to your specific personal specifications is exempt from the 14-day right of withdrawal.
  • Digital Assets: Digital gift cards or downloadable content are non-refundable once the download has begun or the code has been issued.
