Echoes Of Paradise

So he drove out the man; and he placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. 1

For ages mankind embarked on a never-ending unfruitful search for a gate that was closed at the beginning of time. Yet, perhaps the Garden was never moved; perhaps it was only our vision that failed. What if we forgot to search in the most obvious place? What if in His infinite wisdom the Almighty hid paradise in the very front of our naked eyes? What if paradise is hidden in the kindling of a tree, in the susurrus of water as it bears life to its surroundings, in the soft light of the morning aurora? What if what we perceive is already paradise in the way we are allowed to see it: an echo of what once was, and a shadow of what will be once Christ comes again in glory?

Printing Observations

All works are mastered in 16-bit color depth. Standard web formats are unable to retain the full depth of this data; consequently, the physical print will differ from the digital preview. While the online image is optimized for fast loading, the printing process utilizes the original 16-bit edit, allowing for deeper saturations and subtle chromatic shifts to emerge that are lost during compression for web displaying.
This plays a significant role for this image. The 16-bit color depth file has much smoother transitions of colors resulting in a much smoother and softer appearance altogether. The file used at the moment of printing is not as "edgy" as the JPG file displayed on yamworks.com.

Editing Observations

"Echoes Of Paradise" is the artist's interpretation of the Kazancheto waterfall. The real scene was full of garbage at the time the picture was taken. All of that had to be taken out of the frame in post production. The lighting is a product of the artist's vision of the scene as well.
